CONFLICT OF INTEREST DISCLOSURES
If a Navarro College Board of Trustees member or a person related to board member in the first degree by either affinity or consanguinity has a substantial interest in a business entity or in real property, the board member before a vote or decision on any matter involving the business entity or the real property, shall file an affidavit with the official Board record keeper stating the nature and extent of the interest and shall abstain from further participation in the matter according to Local Government Code.
VIOLATIONS
A Trustee who fails to file the appropriate affidavit when required is presumed to have the intent to commit an offense.
PROHIBITED PRACTICES
Prohibited practices for Navarro College Board of Trustees are covered by, but are not limited to the following:
- bribery
- accepting illegal gifts
- acceptance of honoraria
- abuse of office
- nepotism
- college employment
- occupancy of incompatible offices
- sexual harassment or other sexual misconduct
