IS THERE A DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR GRADUATION?
 
YES! Deadline to apply for Spring Commencement is March 10, 2023

 

 
HOW DO I GET A CAP & GOWN? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
 

The Graduation Cap & Gown is FREE to graduates and are available in any Navarro College Bookstore. Pick up your Spring 2023 Commencement Cap & Gown from April 17, 2023 - May 5, 2023*.

 

Last day to pick up your cap & gown is Friday, May 5 at 12:00pm (Noon).

 

 

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY DIPLOMA?
 

Please allow 3-6 weeks for processing. All diplomas will be mailed to the address listed on your graduation application.

 

 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE CEREMONY?
 

Dress is business casual.

 

It is HIGHLY recommended that footwear is strongly considered when deciding attire, as graduates will have a 10-15 minute walk from the staging area to their seat on the field.

 

Comfortable shoes that are capable of withstanding various terrains to include but not limited to concrete, gravel, asphalt, artifical turf, wood, grass (potentially mud or standing water) and synthetic rubber is highly recommended.

 

 

 

TIME TO CELEBRATE!


You made it to graduation and now it is time to celebrate and walk across the stage! Here is what to expect on the day of your commencement ceremony:

 

Graduates will line up at the Louis Gibson Hall, Corsicana Campus (see building #38 on map) and will lead in a procession to the Wolens Special Events Center (see building #33 on map) and then be seated in the gym. 

 

  • A Navarro College staff will assist in lining the pathway to your seat in the gym.
  • Wear comfortable, durable shoes
  • High heels are not encouraged due to the various surfaces all graduates will walk over enroute to their chair in the gym.

Carpooling and pre-planning for traffic is highly encouraged. Alleviate stress the day of by considering you and your family's parking plan and route before the big day.
 

We encourage you to carpool and anticipate long lines for parking. 

 

  • We expect a large crowd of guests for the ceremony, so be sure to pack your patience!
  • Review the parking plans and available lots. You can review them below.
  • There will be NO RESERVED PARKING for the event. This is first-come, first-served.

CHECK-IN INFORMATION

Graduates arrive to the Louis Gibson Hall entrance at Corsicana Campus in ONE HOUR prior to your scheduled commencement time.

  • Arrive at 7:30 a.m. for Dual Credit graduates

  • Arrive at 10:00 a.m. for AS graduates

  • Arrive at 1:00 p.m. for AA, AAT, AAS, and Certificate of Completion graduates

 

Look for the signs and be aware parking will fill quickly, so consider carpooling.

CARDS TO KEEP UP WITH


When the graduate arrives at GIBSON HALL (Corsicana Campus, building #38 on map below), they will find the check-in station and pick up two (2) cards:
 
1) NAME CARD - printed on colored paper and will be left with the photographer.

2) STAGE CARD - VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO LOSE! This card will be handed to the announcer when preparing to walk across the stage.
- This card will be used by the announcer and have the graduate's printed name, degree, and honors (if any)
- Color on this card will coordinate with the line-up group.

PHOTOGRAPHY


When the graduate arrives to GIBSON HALL (Corsicana Campus, building #38 on map below), they will visit the check-in station to complete the PHOTO NAME CARD to provide to the photographer.

 

1) Professional photographyer will take your photo for purchase.

2) Provide your completed Photo Name Card.
